Why engineers over-build the wand
The aluminum tube carries current to the brush head at 22 volts, so it has to be rigid enough not to flex under torque and thin enough to stay under 640 grams. We tried nine wall thicknesses. This one survived an 80,000-cycle fatigue rig.
