Drove the N8 for nine years. Ask me anything about the 2:40am run before I retire Friday.

Route ran from the depot on 6th down through the industrial loop and back, four stops nobody official ever renamed. Happy to answer anything - fares, regulars, the one Christmas Eve run in 2019, all of it.

What was the strangest thing a passenger ever said to you at that hour? Not looking for anything dramatic, just curious about the mundane weirdness of 2:40am.

A guy asked me to hold the bus for two minutes so he could finish a phone call to his mom in Manila. I did. Nobody complained, everyone just looked out the window.

That's the whole job right there, honestly.

This thread is exactly why I stayed subscribed here for two years without ever posting.

You held it for me once too, going the other way. Thank you for that, seriously.

Did the route ever get rerouted for a game night or a parade and completely wreck your schedule?

Twice a year for the fireworks, and once for a marathon I forgot was happening. That one I still hear about from dispatch.
