Each field runs the same day‑stepping FAO model: real day length → real radiation → growing‑degree‑days → Beer‑Lambert canopy interception → radiation‑use‑efficiency biomass → the FAO‑33 water‑stress yield equation at harvest. Compare Field A (Maize, full water) against Field C (Soybean, half water) against Field B (Maize, half water) — same deficit, very different loss, because Maize's yield‑response factor Ky (1.25) is much larger than Soybean's (0.85).
